A beneficiary is a person or entity designated to receive all or a part of your assets in the event of your death. Designating a beneficiary can help to ensure that your assets are allocated according to your wishes and bypass the probate process. Probate is the legal validation of a will and the distribution of assets, which can often be a time-consuming process lasting several months to a year (sometimes more).

There are two types of beneficiaries at Titan: IRA Beneficiaries and beneficiaries designated through a Transfer on Death (TOD) for individual Investing accounts.

**How can I see my beneficiaries?**

You can check your beneficiary designations on the Titan website by logging in [here](http://app.titan.com).

Click the account **Settings icon** in the bottom left-hand corner > select **Beneficiaries**

**Note:** If you previously split your beneficiary allocation or added a contingent beneficiary, this information is not yet visible on the Titan website. If these changes were made, they would have been completed directly with our team, and you should have received an email confirmation at the time.

We know this visibility could be clearer, and our team is actively working to improve this experience for clients. In the meantime, if you’d ever like to double-check or have us confirm the beneficiary designations on your account, just reach out - we’re always happy to help.
