Saving for retirement is an important long-term goal, and IRAs can be one of the most effective ways to build toward it. At Titan, contributing to your IRA is straightforward, and your wealth team is here to help at every step. Below you’ll find everything you need to know: how much you can contribute, how Roth and Traditional IRAs differ, and exactly how to make contributions in your Titan account.

##
**Contribution Limits for 2026**

For 2025, the maximum you can contribute across all of your IRAs—Traditional and Roth combined—is **$7,500**.

If you’re **50 or older**, you’re allowed an additional $1,100 catch-up contribution, bringing your total limit to **$8,600**.

You can make 2026 contributions all the way up until the tax filing deadline in April 2027. Just remember: your contribution can’t exceed your taxable compensation for the year.

After you contribute, you’ll receive a Form 5498 in late May or early June. This form summarizes your contributions for the year, but it’s informational only—you don’t need it to file your taxes.

**Traditional IRA Contributions**

When you contribute to a Traditional IRA, you may be able to deduct some or all of that contribution from your taxable income. That means your tax bill for the year could be lower.

The trade-off comes later: withdrawals in retirement are counted as taxable income. While there are no income restrictions on who can contribute, not everyone can deduct the full amount—it depends on your income and whether you or your spouse are covered by a workplace retirement plan.

##
**Roth IRA Contributions**

Roth IRAs work differently. You contribute after-tax dollars, which means you don’t get a deduction today. But the long-term benefit is significant: your contributions can be withdrawn tax-free, and once you reach age 59½, your investment gains can be withdrawn tax-free as well.

Roth IRAs do come with income limits. For 2026:

* Single filers earning under $153,000 can contribute the full amount. Contributions begin to phase out above that and are eliminated at $168,000.

* Married couples filing jointly can contribute the full amount if their combined income is under $242,000. Contributions phase out above that and are eliminated at $252,000.

If your income is above the limit, you can still explore a Roth Conversion to gain access to the same long-term benefits. Never hesitate to reach out to your advisor for guidance.

**Types of Contributions**

When you add money to your Titan IRA, you’ll choose whether it’s a Regular Contribution or a Rollover Contribution.

* A **Regular Contribution** is money you’re setting aside from your income for the current or prior tax year.

* A **Rollover Contribution** means you’re moving money in from another retirement account, like a 401(k) or an IRA held elsewhere.

**Tracking Your Progress**

Your Titan IRA automatically includes a contribution tracker. You’ll see it at the bottom of your IRA account page, so you can easily confirm how much you’ve added for the year and how much room you still have before hitting the limit.
